Photography Judging Page – Special Artists

Hello, Reflections Judge. Thank you for agreeing to judge the Photography category! Below are the Photography entries in the Special Artists division, which includes students identified as having Special Needs, at any grade level. Special Needs students may choose to enter this division or to enter the division for their age level.

Please read the Artist’s Statement for each entry (above the photo) before evaluating each photo. Artist’s Statements retain the original spelling and grammar, with “translations” provided as necessary.

The judging criteria are Creativity, Technique, and Interpretation of the Theme (“Within Reach”). For more details, see the Photography Introduction page and the Judge’s Instructions & Rubric.

With only two entries, all you’ll have to do is designate a 1st Place entry and a 2nd Place entry. Please email me your decision (with numerical scores, if assigned) and any comments you might want to provide at AlexandriaPTACreflections@gmail.com.

SPECIAL ARTISTS (ALL AGES) –  2 ENTRIES

⇓  Bee Within Reach.  ARTIST’S STATEMENT: “Bees are symbol of hard working. With hard work, you can achieve greatness and everything is within reach. Watching the two bees busy working hard together as a team inspired me to follow and take pictures of them sucking on nectar from one bud to the others. We can learn so much from their teamwork. We can complete the work faster as a team and we can also learn from each other while working together. Teamwork can greatly improve productivity and also can be fun together. As a team, we can reach further for whatever dreams we want to reach.”

⇓  Nature Within Reach.  ARTIST’S STATEMENT: “I was thinking about how the leaves feel, that maybe they feel different than other leaves feel. I wondered how much further I need to reach to touch the tree.”
