It’s a new school year, and a new Reflections contest. The theme this year:
“What is Your Story?”
Whether you’re a school Reflections chair, a student who wants to enter, or the parent of a student entrant, we hope you’ll find everything you need on this site. Please keep in mind that the site is still a work in progress. If you find a broken link or need information that is not yet here, please let us know by contacting the Alexandria Reflections Chair at alexandriaPTACreflections@gmail.com
Reflections is unusual in that any student can win recognition, not just those who have previously shown great talent or skill in the arts. That’s because the judging depends not only on technique, but also on creativity, and — especially — on the student’s expression of the contest theme through art. Reflections encourages students to experiment. Never made a film before? That doesn’t matter. Come up with an idea, film it, and you could win an award, even against students with more experience. Of course, this isn’t really about the awards. It’s about using art to tell your story, whatever that might be.
